The All Nepal Football Association’s (ANFA) meeting with the nine participating clubs of the c has decided to resume the league from Bhadra 18 (Sept. 4).
With 40 matches left to play, the ANFA plans to end the league by (Ashoj 30) Oct. 17, before the Dashain festival.
The meeting chaired by ANFA President Ganesh Thapa/ CA Member also decided to give validity to the players registered in the club till the completion of the league to ease the participating clubs.
Regarding foreign players who have left the country after the earthquake on April 25, 2015 or whose contract has expired, it was agreed to re-sign the players as mentioned in clause 3 (sub-clause 6) in the 2068 regulation.
President Thapa requested all the officials to cope with the association at this time of crisis to complete the league in a successful way.
“The national league is a great start and we are confident that this will help a great deal in developing football in the country. The earthquake on April 25 and the untimely demise of acting president Lalit Krisha Shrestha has dealt a great blow to the football fraternity and I would like to request for a better coordination to make the league a success,” he said.
Jhapa XI leads the standing with 16 points from eight matches. The last match of the league on April 25 was between Jhapa XI and Morang, which the former won by 5-1 margin at home.
